Car makers are set to introduce non-petrol variants of their models. The demand for alternative fuel is directly proportional to the price and availability of different fuels and the enforcement of new emission controls. But I believe things will come together much faster than we believe as the demand does increase and the public awareness and education increases over the next few years. The time is ripe and changes are upon us. Future political administrations will help speed up this process as well.

I live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and it gets really cold up here. The particular town I live in is the 4th coldest city in the continental US, and the second snowiest.

I would very much like to be as green and eco-friendly as possible, and that means that when I get my first car I would like to convert it to run on alternative fuels.However, other people I’ve talked to up here say that cars just won’t start if they’re running biodiesel and the temperature is below freezing (which it is about 6 months out of the year).

So what is a good way to run “green gas” in very cold climates? How much would it cost to implement?
Vegetable oil was my original thought, but one of my friends who runs it says that he can’t use it in the winter either, and he lives 200 miles south of me.

I’ve been researching some on alternative fuels lately, namely E85 and CNG. And so far, it doesn’t look like our 2000 Buick Century will run on any of them. Is this true?
